Windshield camera calibration for Miami drivers.
4.8 on Google 359 reviews on our Miami profile
Lane-keep, automatic braking and adaptive cruise often watch the road through the windshield. After new glass, we calibrate that camera in the same visit where the procedure can be done on site, and we tell you up front if your car needs it.

Why it matters
A camera that looks through your glass
The forward camera sits in a bracket on the inside of the windshield. When the glass changes, the camera's view of the road shifts by a tiny angle. On the Dolphin at 60 mph, a tiny angle at the lens becomes a big miss a few hundred feet ahead, so the camera has to be told where straight ahead is again.
Before any work starts, we tell you whether your car's camera needs calibrating after the new windshield, based on the VIN and the maker's procedure. Most of the time it happens right after the glass is set. If your car's procedure calls for a road drive or equipment we cannot run where the car is parked, you hear that before booking.
The space
What a calibration needs around the car
Some calibrations use a target board in front of the car, and the floor and the space matter. This is what we ask about when you book in a Miami garage or lot.
| Need | Why | Typical Miami spot |
|---|---|---|
| A level floor | The target and the car must sit on the same plane | A flat parking level in a condo or office garage, never the ramp between levels |
| Clear space in front | Room for the target ahead of the bumper | An end space or a visitor area with nothing parked in front |
| Even light | Glare and hard shadows can upset some procedures | Inside a garage rather than under the midday sun |
| A dry day for road drives | Some makers use a calibration drive on marked roads | Clear weather and a road with fresh lane lines nearby |
Calibration is included with the windshield replacement when your vehicle needs it.
Systems
Features that depend on the camera
- Lane
Lane-keep assist
Reads the lane lines on I-95 and nudges the car back between them.
- Braking
Automatic emergency braking
Watches for stopped traffic ahead, the kind that builds fast near the Golden Glades.
- Cruise
Adaptive cruise
Holds a gap to the car ahead, on some cars with help from a radar sensor.
- Signs
Sign reading and auto high beams
Reads speed limit signs and dims the lights for oncoming traffic.
Calibration questions in Miami
Ask about your car on our Miami line, (305) 677-8371, or text the VIN to (877) 350-5962.
Does every new windshield need a calibration?
No. Only cars with a camera or sensor that looks through the windshield. We check from the VIN and tell you before the job whether yours does.
Can you calibrate in a high-rise garage?
Often, if there is a level stretch of floor with open space in front of the car. Tell us the building and level when you book, and we tell you whether the procedure for your car can be done there.
What if a warning light shows up after the install?
Call our Miami line, (305) 677-8371. If it comes from our work, our lifetime workmanship warranty covers it for as long as you own the vehicle.
Is calibration an extra charge?
Calibration is included with the windshield replacement when your vehicle needs it, so your quote already covers both.
